A seasoned traveller, Cassandra Clare had been for a month long trek around the Himalayas in her Dad’s back pack and lived in 4 countries before she was 10! She always loved books and writing and a chance introduction to a literary agent lead to her first novel City of Bones, the first in her Mortal Instruments series, being published back in 2005.
The Mortal Instruments is a six book series that explores an alternate, parallel world filled with shape-shifting demons. An urban gothic fantasy brimming over with romance, blood lust, betrayal and revenge. The 5th one has just been published.
Infernal Devices is a set of prequels to the Mortal Instruments series, set in Victorian London. It’s a dark, dangerous and romantic urban fantasy filled with vampires, werewolves and shape-shifters. Clockwork Angel is the first followed by Clockwork Prince with the third and final part scheduled for 2013..
Fans of Buffy and the Twilight series will love them – they are addictive stuff.
