The Lovereading comment:
A cracking page-turning adventure that brings a new twist on Arthurian legend. The future of Camelot is in the hands of Arthur's secret daughter, Rhianna. Utterly gripping, this is the start of a series for 10+ year olds by an award winning author. It's a magical quest based adventure that will appeal to Harry Potter and Tolkien fans. In a sentence, it's Arthurian legend reinvented for a new generation of readers!
Author Katherine Roberts said: “As a big fan of Arthurian fantasy, I’ve always wanted to write my own version of the legend but didn’t want to repeat the old stories. When I found red-haired Rhianna, King Arthur’s daughter, hiding on the enchanted island of Avalon, I knew she would make a great young warrior princess to carry the Pendragon legend to a new generation.”

Reviews
‘There is magic at work here as strong as Merlin's and Katherine Roberts has done what generations have waited for - brought King Arthur back to life.’ Mary Hoffman, author of David and Troubadour
‘Children are going to love this enchanting blend of knights, dragons, druids, Saxon invaders and magical horses. I love the many deft touches of real history and Celtic legends which deepen the story. There are some shiveringly scary moments, and Rhianna is a refreshingly confident heroine as she struggles for recognition in the worlds of faerie and men. I can't wait to read the sequels!' Katherine Langrish, author of Dark Angels and West of the Moon series.
'Rhianna Pendragon fights dragons, and outwits Evil; her best friend is a violet-eyed Elfin prince, and she can communicate with her beautiful horse - This is a thrilling dream many a girl will want to inhabit!' Susan Price, author of The Sterkham Handshake
'Roberts has a created a feisty young heroine in Rhianna .. This is a novel about friendship, courage and doing the right thing and is perfectly aimed at a 10+ market.' The British Fantasy Society
More praise for Katherine Roberts:
'Roberts wears her considerable research lightly.. And the end, for both king and horse, is as moving as anything I've read in a children's book' - Mary Hoffman in The Guardian, of I am the Great Horse
