The Lovereading comment:
Shortlisted for the 2010 Blue Peter 'Most Fun with Pictures' Award.
Hugely inventive and charmingly funny with laugh-out-loud zany humour and wonderful illustrations throughout that will make you giggle and complement the text, this will be enjoyed equally by parents reading with their children and by children reading alone.
A new book from Daren King called Frightfully Friendly Ghosties is published in February 2010.
Synopsis
Peter the Penguin Pioneer by Daren King'This book is for penguins only. If you're not a penguin, stop reading now or I'll slap you with my flippers!' Fresh from a jungle trip, Peter, his exuberant assistant Punky and their friend Harold discover their beloved ice-skating rink has been over-populated with some dubious-looking penguins. Determined to weasel them out and return their rink to its former glory, Peter and Punky embark on an adventure involving flying fish, silly snowmen, angry polar bears and a bunch of very sneaky squirrels.
