Synopsis
Tales of the Greek Heroes (audio-CD) by Roger GreenIn the time before man there were many gods on Mount Olympus. Then man was created out of clay by Zeus and taught wisdom by Prometheus, although he also learnt both cruelty and courage. The bravest of these men became the heroes of Greece.
Here, among many others, are tales of Perseus, who killed the Gorgon Medusa, Jason, who brought home the Golden Fleece, Heracles, who undertook the twelve labours, and Theseus, who slew the minotaur.
About The Author
Roger Lancelyn Green (1918-87) was interested in myths and legends from childhood and, greatly influenced by Andrew Lang, made a study of the compiler of myths and legends while at Oxford. He became hereditary lord of the manors Poulton-Lancelyn and Lower Bebington and produced biographies, children's fiction and fifteen volumes of his own retellings of traditional stories.
