Julia Eccleshare's comment:

A great introduction to the famous story of the Trojan Horse. Acheron is such a liar that no one believes him when he warns the people of Troy to be wary of the giant wooden horse which the Greeks have left behind. If only they’d listened….

Who is Julia Eccleshare ?

Synopsis

The Boy Who Cried Horse by Terry Deary

The year is 1180 BC and Troy is under siege. Young Acheron is a liar and everybody knows it. And when a stranger comes to the city to announce that the Greeks have departed, leaving a special gift of a wooden horse, Acheron is suspicious. He races to tell Prince Paris about the Greek plot, but will anyone at the palace believe him?

Reviews

'Hilarious... with energy and invention. Dreary has a remarkable ability to conjure up vivid characters and scene-settings within a brief narrative.'
Books for Keeps (September 2007)
'Despite the moral it's a good introduction to an historical event and very funny with lots of action. Children will love the characters... There is lots of dialogue and some lovely evocative imagery too. Highly reccommended.'
Carousel (June 2007)
