Julia Eccleshare's comment:

A terrific teenage thriller, Thieves like Us is nail-biting from start to finish. Jonah has no idea why he’s been sprung from the detention centre but apparently his reputation at solving puzzles of all kinds has gone before him and he soon finds that he’s the latest recruit for a master criminal who runs a gang of teenagers to carry out his schemes. Each has a special task to perform and Jonah finds he must unlock a secret from the past which could have the most terrifying consequences. Dangerous, Chilling and absolutely gripping.

Synopsis

Thieves Like Us by Stephen Cole

Brilliantly fast-paced and sophisticated thriller - Tomb Raider meets Ocean's Eleven

Nathaniel Coldhardt, an aging, debonair master-criminal runs his own unique job creation scheme. He recruits teenagers with special skills — kids from the wrong side of the tracks with no real family and nothing to lose. He trains them as ruthless, efficient professionals and employs them to undertake the daring crimes he’s so good at planning. He has a team of four, but for his next assignment he needs a new skill… and that’s where Jonah comes in. Jonah can decode anything, he’s a genius at cryptology — that’s what got him arrested. He doesn’t know who is breaking him out of the young offender’s institute but he’s about to find out…

About The Author

Stephen Cole Born in 1971, Steve Cole spent a happy childhood in rural Bedfordshire being loud and aspiring to amuse. He liked books, and so went to the University of East Anglia to read more of them. Later on he started writing them too, with titles ranging from pre-school poetry to Young Adult thrillers (with more TV and film tie-ins than he cares to admit to along the way). In other careers he has been the editor of Noddy magazine, the voice of a Dalek and an editor of fiction and nonfiction book titles for various publishers.
